Cartilage Rhinoplasty
Also known as a nose job.
The procedure is a combined nose lift using cartilage that is usually harvested from the ear or nasal septum and tip plasty. This procedure is done under local anesthesia in an outpatient facility.
Patients are advised that there will be a nasal splint after the procedure that will help control the swelling and hold the implant in place during the initial period of healing.
The procedure will improve nasal bridge height and definition, as well as, tip projection and definition.
After Surgery:
After the procedure, patients will have swelling and some bruising of the nose. Patients are advised that there will be swelling, tightness, minimal pain or discomfort and numbness. However, these are transient and resolve spontaneously during the next several weeks.
For Better Healing:
To improve healing and minimize swelling, patients are advise to avoid the following for 2 to 3 weeks : smoking, alcoholic beverages, aspirin, NSAID’s like mefenamic acids, vitamin E supplement, steroids, herbal tea or herbal medications.
