Breast Augmentation, is a surgical procedure that enhances the size and shape of a woman’s breasts with the use of breast implants (silicone or saline). The procedure also enhances breast contour and volume after pregnancy. Surgeons report that implants may give some breast lift effect to patients with slight skin excess at their breast area. A breast implant is composed of cohesive silicone gel or saline within a silicone shell. Most surgeons use a breast implant which is composed of material that is non-toxic, non-allergenic, non-teratogenic and bio-compatible to human tissues and thus has less risk for any unwanted results and has a more predictable outcome.

After Surgery:
After the procedure, patients will have pressure dressing or garment at the treated area to help control the swelling. Patients are advised that there will be swelling, tightness, minimal pain or discomfort and numbness. However, these conditions are transient and resolve spontaneously during the next several weeks.

For Better Healing:
To improve healing and minimize swelling, patients are advise to avoid the following for 2 to 3 weeks : smoking, alcoholic beverages, aspirin, NSAID’s like mefenamic acids, vitamin E supplement, steroids, herbal tea or herbal medications.
