Abdominal Etching / Six Pack Surgery
Abdominal Etching/Six Pack Surgery is a high definition liposculpturing that involves selective superficial liposuction to improve the definition and appearance of the abdominal musculature.
Abdominal etching, also known as six pack surgery, is best done for patients who have been doing abdominal exercises but who have fail to make their muscles more visible or prominent. The procedure entails making the border of each abdominal muscle more defined by selective superficial liposuction.
This is done under regional anesthesia with light sedation or general anesthesia. It could be done in an outpatient or hospital facility.
Patients will be required to wear a pressure garment for up to 2 to 3 weeks after the procedure to help control the swelling and assist the skin in redraping to muscle.
After Surgery:
After the procedure, patients will have pressure dressing or garment at the treated area to help control the swelling. Patients are advised that there will be swelling, tightness, minimal pain or discomfort and numbness. However, these conditions are transient and resolve spontaneously during the next several weeks.
For Better Healing:
To improve healing and minimize swelling, patients are advise to avoid the following for 2 to 3 weeks : smoking, alcoholic beverages, aspirin, NSAID’s like mefenamic acids, vitamin E supplement, steroids, herbal tea or herbal medications.
